Nutraceutical and Nutree Confectionary Formulator & Analyst.
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Nutraceutical and Nutree Confectionary Formulator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and optimizing formulations for a range of nutraceutical products, including supplements, functional foods, and nutriconfectionary items. This role requires expertise in ingredient selection, formulation development, and knowledge of regulatory requirements in the nutraceutical industry. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for scaling up formulations from laboratory to commercial production, ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency throughout the process.
Responsibilities
Formulation Development: Research and evaluate raw materials, including vitamins, minerals, botanicals, and other bioactive compounds, for use in nutraceutical and nutriconfectionary products.
Design and develop innovative formulations that meet nutritional requirements in compliance with regulations of designated market, taste preferences, and market trends.
Conduct stability studies to assess product shelf-life and optimize formulation stability.
Conduct experiments and create specified analytical methods for developed formulation and document the standardised approved MOA (method of analysis). MOA development as per AOAC, IP, USP, JP guidelines.
Recipe Optimization: Optimize formulations for taste, texture, and appearance, ensuring that products meet consumer preferences and sensory expectations.
Conduct sensory evaluations and consumer testing to gather feedback and refine formulations accordingly.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of regulatory requirements and industry standards for nutraceutical and food products, including FDA, FSSAI, and other relevant regulations.
Ensure that formulations comply with regulatory guidelines regarding ingredient safety, labeling, and claims.
Scale-Up Process: Collaborate with manufacturing and production teams to scale up formulations from laboratory to commercial production.
Conduct pilot trials and manufacturing tests to assess scalability, optimize process parameters, and troubleshoot any issues that arise during scale-up.
Quality Control: Establish quality control parameters for raw materials, intermediates, and finished products, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.
Implement quality assurance procedures to monitor product quality and consistency throughout the manufacturing process.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of formulation development activities, including batch records, test results, and production reports.
Prepare technical reports, summaries, and presentations to communicate formulation developments, scale-up activities, and project progress to internal stakeholders.
Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including research and development, marketing, regulatory affairs, and manufacturing, to ensure alignment on project goals and objectives.
Communicate effectively with internal teams, external vendors, and suppliers to coordinate formulation activities and resolve any issues or challenges that arise.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Food Science, Nutritional Science, Chemistry, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in formulation development, preferably in the nutraceutical or food industry.
- Strong knowledge of ingredients, including vitamins, minerals, botanicals, and functional ingredients used in nutraceutical products.
- Experience with sensory evaluation, consumer testing, and formulation optimization.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements for nutraceutical and food products, including labeling, claims, and safety standards.
- Experience with scale-up processes and manufacturing operations, preferably in a food or nutraceutical manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
